Call Center Specialist  

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide excellent customer service to both external and internal clients, answer calls, schedule appointments, provide support to Centers and provide general agency or program information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. As first point of contact for clients, must be courteous and professional at all times. 2. Answer telephone calls efficiently and appropriately. 3. Be well versed on our health services and answer relevant questions about our health centers and health services. 4. Schedule patient appointments according to guidelines, using computer-based appointment schedule. 5. Provide callers/patients with appropriate resources as necessary. 6. Must be able to understand and communicate information on payment for health services, including self pay, private insurance and state benefits such as Family PACT and Medi-Cal. 7. Must adhere to scripts and protocols. 8. May fill in for receptionist as requested.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to work independently and as a team member. 2. Possess a warm, caring manner. 3. Ability to relate to diverse communities. 4. Ability to read and implement written instructions. 5. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 6. Professional appearance and attitude. 7. A reliable and flexible means of transportation is required. 8. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Effective and polite communication skills / excellent customer service skills. 3. Ability to work with computers and enter data quickly and accurately. 4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Internet Explorer. 5. One (1) year proven customer service experience / health care background preferred
